Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic pattern of tension in the body through slow and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia. It just FEELS GOOD! When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that build up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep tissue massage helps to release toxins and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. It’s important to drink PLENTY of water after a deep tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.

Welcome to Hedda Body Work
Tommy and Heidi Cyreus |
Tommy Cyreus, has spent years studying and arranging the elements of life. He has been a renowned glass blower, a teacher of martial arts and a massage therapist. To each of these disciplines he has brought the same philosophy - that the quality of health and well-being is directly related to a deliberate arranging of the elements and energy of mind and body.
Because Tommy approaches massage as an art, his style of message has logically taken the label of artisan massage.
When the elements of your body are properly arranged then healthy energy flows freely to influence your muscles, your bones, your emotions and a sense of well-being.
Tommy came to the US from Sweden in the early 1990s in a pursuit of achieving mastery in both glass blowing and martial arts. Not long after the beginning of the new millennium he made the commitment to also build on his knowledge of anatomy and massage.
He attended New Hampshire Technical College where he learned physiology, kinesiology, anatomy, deep tissue massage, shiatsu, reflexology, chair massage, sport massage, reiki and of course Swedish massage.
In light of the variety of disciplines he has studied and the amazing people he has learned from, Tommy brings together a variety of Eastern and Western modalities in order to bring his clients a unique approach that can only be called artisan massage.
Because Tommy is a teacher he is well qualified to educate people in the many facets of therapy and wellness. He upholds high moral standards and ethics in order to promote a positive view of the massage industry, and to form a trusting relationship with individuals as he takes steps to improve and maintain their health.
